Here we look at the origins of the English Navy the development of the Navy Royal and the reorganisation and formation of the Royal Navy.  This is the first part of I think three episodes on the Senior Service.

Apologies again for the delay, hopefully I won't take to long next time.

Enjoy and all the best

Tony

Great to have you back! How about a few words about the everyday life aboard a ship? What were their individual tasks? Their diet? How long did they stayed at sea? Sometimes I'm more curious about the sailors than their ships.

I love all of these podicast/but really loved the Battle of Britain.
I will have to download it again and listen and listen.
I really liked the full description of the technology and yes the sound effects and voice overs.
I feel that made it so different from all other people's podicast and even from this one. It really gave you a very distinctive niche.
I would really like you to do more on World War II. To me that conflict illustrated how humans were starting to understand the use of machines and the psychological effect machines were having on them.
I have authored several books and i speak of the future where machines will run our lives in sex, feeding, learning, and of course waring.

    Brilliant as always.

Incidentally, since viewing that recent Channel 4 drama series I've been revisiting and again enjoying some of the early BTH podcasts that deal with Cromwell and the whole shenanigans of the English Civil War period.

Good to have you back with such a great topic.
Might I make 2 suggestions, one technical, one content.
Condsider your vocal dynamics Tony; sometime your sink into a sotto voce, a useful storytelling technique but your voice drops so low I lose the words. Also, if you are familiar with James Burke and his "Connections" enterprises you might find an interesting approach for future shows.
As always, as you say. thanks for being there. I relish the longer drives just to make sure I catch your lastest gem.
